Queen Of My Nights

Watching the fading Sun sow seed for the night, i sigh

Perched upon this tree, i arch my head to look at my Beloved

Veiled in parts, She slowly swims in the dark sky

Dressing up each moment with fineries made from leaves and flowers

Drawn to the sky above, She starts to lose her garbs, one at a time

Tears betray my leering eyes, welling up in the first glimpse

Writhing in ecstasy, my legs lose their grip to the river below

Bathed in Her light, the moon-kissed wolf let out a final howl.

Afloat in the river, my eyes ever-fixed on Her, i’ve stopped swimming

Muted by the flowing current, my ears could finally hear

In that Silence, i’ve started flowing into the river and the river onto me

Boundaries dissolve as i make my way to the still lake of the night

As i lay awake in my stillness, i find Her in my reflection as clear as day

Identical, 'tis still but a reflection. Gone the moment a frog jumps in.

Basking in Her glow, i let myself sublimate to the clouds high

The whole sky, now our playground, still empty as if She never was

Man on a hill, sees us play hide & seek, caressing each other ceaselessly

Bird on the wing, above the clouds, partly knows the expanse She’s from

Unclouded, She remains untouched

Pouring my eyes out in despair, i hear Her whisper “you are life & light

Suddenly, i see Her all around, in the trees, in the streams, in the skies. Everywhere.

In that, i open myself up. Dispersed in a swift swirl, i am nowhere.

Now. Here.
The grosser reality gives way to the subtle.

Hearts fused, I hold Her in an eternal embrace of the expanse.

Singing her songs of radiance, She still shines bright in my night.

Somewhere in the woods, a wolf howls...
